Disney’s Hexed Adds Jodie Foster and Walton Goggins to Voice Cast
Disney is adding two major Hollywood stars to its upcoming animated fantasy film Hexed, with Oscar winner Jodie Foster and The White Lotus and Fallout star Walton Goggins joining the voice cast.
The casting announcement was made during Disney’s 2026 D23 event in Anaheim, California, giving the original Walt Disney Animation Studios project another major boost ahead of its theatrical release.
Jodie Foster Joins Hexed as Queen Celeste
Foster will voice Queen Celeste, the queen of the witches in the upcoming animated adventure.
The role marks Foster’s first time providing a voice for a Walt Disney Animation Studios feature. Foster has, however, appeared in Disney productions during her earlier film career, including Candleshoe and Freaky Friday.
Her addition gives Hexed another recognizable Hollywood name alongside its previously announced lead, Hailee Steinfeld.
Walton Goggins Voices a Three-Eyed Cat
Goggins will provide the voice of Beef Roger Crummchuck, a three-eyed green cat who is part of the film’s magical world.
The unusual character has already become one of the more talked-about elements of the D23 presentation, particularly because of the contrast between Goggins’ recognizable live-action roles and his animated character.
Goggins has recently appeared in major productions including Fallout and The White Lotus, continuing a period of increased visibility across film and television.
Hailee Steinfeld Leads the Film
Steinfeld remains at the center of Hexed, providing the voice of Billie Doe.
Billie is described as an unconventional teenage girl who discovers that she possesses magical abilities.
Rashida Jones is also part of the previously announced voice cast, while other performers include Tracey Ullman and Stephen Fry.
The film’s story will take audiences into a world involving witches, magic and a teenager attempting to understand her newly discovered abilities.
Disney Introduced the New Cast at D23
The casting announcement was part of Disney’s major D23 presentation, where the studio showcased upcoming animated, live-action and franchise projects.
Jared Bush, Walt Disney Animation Studios’ chief creative officer, joined the Hexed presentation alongside Steinfeld, Foster and Goggins.
The event also featured announcements involving Zootopia 3, Frozen 3, Tangled, The Bluey Movie and several other major Disney properties.
An Original Disney Animation Project
Unlike many of Disney’s current animated releases, Hexed is an original property rather than a sequel or adaptation of an established Disney franchise.
That makes the film particularly significant for Walt Disney Animation Studios as the company continues developing new stories alongside major properties such as Frozen, Zootopia and Toy Story.
The film was originally announced at Destination D23 in 2025 before its story and lead character were subsequently developed further.
Hexed Gets a Thanksgiving Release
Disney has scheduled Hexed for a November 25, 2026 theatrical release in the United States.
That places the film in the important Thanksgiving holiday corridor, traditionally one of the strongest periods of the year for family-oriented movies.
A holiday release could give Disney an opportunity to attract families and younger audiences during the busy end-of-year movie season.
Disney Continues Building Its Animation Slate
The Hexed announcement comes as Disney is preparing an unusually busy slate of animated films.
The company is developing new installments of major franchises while continuing to introduce original projects.
At D23, Disney also announced Zootopia 3 and provided new information about Frozen 3, while Pixar presented projects including Incredibles 3 and Coco 2.
The combination of established franchises and original films gives Disney a broad animation lineup extending well beyond 2026.
Why Jodie Foster and Walton Goggins Matter
The addition of Foster and Goggins gives Hexed significant star power before its theatrical release.
Foster brings decades of experience in Hollywood and two Academy Awards, while Goggins has become one of television’s most recognizable character actors through projects including Justified, Fallout and The White Lotus.
Their participation could help broaden interest in the animated film beyond its younger target audience.
Looking Ahead
Disney’s announcement of Jodie Foster and Walton Goggins gives Hexed a significant new casting boost as the animated fantasy adventure approaches theaters.
Foster will voice Queen Celeste, while Goggins will voice the three-eyed green cat Beef Roger Crummchuck. They join Hailee Steinfeld and Rashida Jones in the voice cast.
With its November 25, 2026 theatrical release and an increasingly recognizable cast, Hexed is shaping up as one of Disney Animation’s major original releases for the holiday season.
